Google Pixel 6 brand positioning and messaging exploration
The Pixel 6 was a whole new kind of phone, with a new chip, new hardware, and a redesigned OS that is more customizable than ever before. I led the writing exploration and worked with a team of designers to develop the messaging and look and feel for the launch of Pixel 6. Below are a few snapshots of the evolution of copy and design. (This is more to demonstrate the process and my ability to lead / work with multiple teams and cross-functional disciplines. It doesn’t look like much here but what you’re looking at took about 6 months, and hundreds of meetings and presentations. For better or for worse.)
Pixel Tablet launch
I was the writing creative lead for the launch of the Google Pixel Tablet. I led hero messaging, feature naming and writing, launch videos, working with global teams as well as internal designers, external agencies and other stakeholders.

A glimpse of how the overall writing and messaging makes its way into social / digital. My role is to oversee (as well as do a lot of the writing) the integration.
Google Home redesign / relaunch
The Google Home app is where all your smart devices live, and where you can control and set routines, etc. This was a major redesign / relaunch of the platform. I led all the messaging and writing, worked closely with PMM’s, UX writers, agencies (Huge & BASIC) to reintroduce Google Home to customers. It needed to be on brand but also be able to speak to the more tech-savvy customers who create their own code / scripts for automations and routines, and so on.

Similar to Google Home, my role was start-to-finish creative lead for writing and messaging. Linking the web page here but there were many touchpoints such as retail / CRM etc that I was involved in.
Pixel Feature Drops
Feature Drops are regular updates to Pixel phones that deliver new features, tips, tricks, etc to keep the phones current. It’s like getting a new phone every few months. I lead most (not all) of the writing work for feature drops. Those assets then get pushed out to XF teams like social, where they create videos, posts, etc. from the core writing that the team creates.
